I am jealous that F. Scott Fitzgerald got to attend Gatsby’s parties, or that Tolkien was able to save Middle Earth from their doom, because I can never finish the adventures I come up with.
The digital age is beautiful, full of possibilities, resources, and more, but it has it’s catch as well, your time. I am so easily sucked into scrolling on TikTok, eying IG posts, and wandering aimlessly through the Web, even though I have places to go in reality. No wonder we still don’t have the last Game of Thrones book.
As someone who has Attention Deficient, this has been a struggle for me as the internet expands as its own universe. I drift, I procrastinate, and I judge myself for not finishing projects, or not following through on an idea. It is a very frustrating cycle, and frankly, I am tired of spinning.
In the hopes to curb this, I am going to attempt to try different “techniques” from Writers of the Past to see if their schedule (pronounced schedule) can help me be more productive.
Please feel free to comment which author’s schedule/technique to writing I should try, and follow my attempts via reels on my Instagram @enis.st.sparrow.
Let the wild rumpus start!
I find this so wildly relatable
