Happiness is a wild thing,

it passes through us like smoke,

right when you are starting to warm up from the fire,

it is a dog that brought me a bone, then hid it for me to find,

it is a bird that leaves the nest of eggs under your supervision,

it is a flat stone and risking it all for a moment of ripples.

Happiness is a wild thing we cage in our soul, borrowing it for a moment

before we must let it go and be fulfilled in finding what makes us “happy” again.
