For the Mingles
Hello, and Happy Valentine's Day, in honor of this lovely holiday, I have compiled a few love poems. So light those candles, drink that bubbly, and recite these sweet words to your Valentine.
I love how you pronounce my name.
Meet me at 6pm in the kitchen,
where the water is boiling over
and food, no matter how hard we wish, can't cook itself,
I'll be sock-footed on the linoleum,
and I will hold my hand to you for a dance
under the veil of sweet jazz
and we will dance
instead of sauté,
the night away.
With you, I am free.
She's got the brightest smile in her eyes,
and he is the reason.
I hope to always find you in every life I lead.
He was a fallen star, beautiful, bright, burning,
sitting on the couch beside her.
He just glittered there, staring at her with comet round eyes,
eager to learn more stories of her.
Call him Dionysus, because I am drunk off of his love.
They are happy, and that is poetry in itself.
A heart beats differently when it is not shaken down for its love.
He has the perfect cupids bow I can lay my kisses on.
Sun celebrates Moon’s return by lighting the dance floor with his light.
I learned in Science that Thunder claps because Lightning is so hot.
I am so thankful I waited for my story to get better.
I should call him Molasses,
his sweetness hasn’t left me yet.
Psyche met Cupid because Homer learned that love
can make you go crazy.
You make wish I knew how to dance,
then I could really sweep you off your feet
and show you that I really do have the whole world in my hands.
Daisy links, but with your kisses to meld them together instead of stems.
She made me realize that Angels do live amongst us.
I hope you enjoy these pieces. They were so fun to make! Happy Valentine’s Day everyone, and to many more romantic nights in your futures!
