Bodies
An essay from the Owner
It is crazy what bodies can do, each one individualized to their designated tasks.
Spiders make silk to capture insects, a substance that is stronger than steel and can absorb energy like Kevlar.
The peregrine falcon is like a knife falling through the sky with their perfectly crafted wings, diving up to 240 mph to ambush prey in just mere seconds.
Wood frogs survive the winter by freezing themselves by making an antifreeze in their cells.
Women rearrange their bodies to make room for their growing child, carrying them for up to nine months, deliver and feed them with their bodies, carrying on the legacy that has been within their bloodline for hundreds of generations. We carry an archive of life, passing on the histories of our genes from our ancestors while containing the future of families.
