She dances on the driveway
barefoot, and thunder-washed,
her white shirt translucent as ghost,
her jean shorts now charcoal-gray and sealed to her skin.
She is spinning, laughing, as the sky opens onto her.
Lightning bolts around her, wreathing her in its gold,
like the feathers of a phoenix.
